When I first began waxing in the Beauty Industry over 10 years ago it was not very common to have a man walk through the salon door (unless he was the courier delivering product). Or perhaps the occasional swimmer or cyclist for a leg wax at the beginning of race reason. But how times have changed! Never before have we been so in demand. With the booming industry of Manscaping upon us the men are not only waxing for grooming benefits but some other great benefits as follows-

-A lot of men suffer from sweat pimples in our hot Queensland climate. Especially the men that work long hours out doors in extreme heat. It also does not help with the uniform requirements on sites these days for health and safety regulations.

-Another summer problem is Chafing. I have heard of many cures for chafing over the years including Vaseline, Powder and Sorberlene. But these are only quick fixes. As soon as you sweat these barrier products will slide right off. Through experience I have found that removing the hair from the Chafing zones will minimise or cure Chafing altogether. And as the hairs grow back finer and more sparse it will become less of a problem. Keeping up the waxing every 4 weeks in this area will not give the hairs a chance to agitate at all.

-Hygiene. A lot of men experience odour under the arms. Removing the hair minimises this.

-Manscaping. From nostrils, eyebrow tidies, ears and strays on the neck to speedo waxing, brazilians, chest and stomach. The men want to look tidy and well groomed. And the great thing about waxing is the hairs will only get less as time goes by.

1) Exfoliate twice a week with an exfolient glove to prevent dead skin build up as hairs can become trapped under the skin.

2) Apply Caron Triple Action Bump Eraser once daily-the fruit acids will exfoliate at a deeper level and flush out the follicles to prevent ingrowns.

3)Try to avoid excessive sweating for first 24 hours when follicles are still open after a wax-tea tree wash and creams are a great antiseptic to use.

4)Try to keep waxing regular between 4-5 weeks return-being regular with waxing will make the hairs grow back more sparse and finer. And less pain each visit.

Dear Joy,

I had an appointment with you and had Synthetic Mink lashes placed in
'Glam' on Tuesday 22/2/11. I had eyelash extensions placed by someone
else 5 days prior to my appointment with you, and I found them to be
terribly uncomfortable. They both looked and felt unnatural, and they
were like stiff, thick 'sticks'. I noticed them all the time, and each
time I blinked, I was aware of a scratching and pulling sensation.
However, as this was the first time that I had eyelash extensions, I
just assumed that this was how they were supposed to feel.

I came across your website, and had you remove the eyelashes and place
new ones. The ones you placed are amazing - they are very comfortable
and feel like normal lashes. I especially like the way you placed a
few different thicknesses and lengths, making them appear more
natural, which is exactly the look I was hoping for on my wedding day!
I don't even notice them except that so many people have gone out of
their way to comment on how big my eyes look, and how much of a
difference they make to my appearance. For someone who never wears
make up, to have comments like that is a nice little boost.

I just wanted to thank you for your time, and the care you showed in
listening to my needs and in removing the old lashes and applying the
new ones. You have made such a big difference, and I am very lucky to
have found someone as skilled and as professional as you! I look
forward to working with you for my wedding! However, they are so
comfortable that what started out as a one-off thing looks like
becoming a regular treat for myself!!! Both my mother and my sister
are very impressed with my new 'look', and they are also keen to have
extensions for the wedding!!
